History 101

The motor got running in 2002, when Chuck's brother Bill founded the annual "Law & Order" golf tournament benefiting the Baltimore Child Abuse Center. In the beginning Bill tried to go it all alone, spending countless hours getting sponsors, collecting gift certificates, recruiting golfers, printing programs and setting up the course the day of the event. His hard work, dedication, and timeless efforts have paid off. In 2007 he was honored as a "Unsung Hero" by the Baltimore Philanthropist Society and to date has help to raise over $125,000.00 for BCAC. Sadly after Bill retired and moved to Florida the golf tournament ended in 2013.

Realizing after researching the statistics of child abuse in Baltimore and the nation, Chuck wanted to help bring awareness to the forefront through the gathering of the motorcycle community. Knowing that those who ride for the freedom and trill of being on two wheels will come out and support any worthy cause by opening their hearts and wallets.

With Bill, not being a rider my wingman for most of the rides became our older brother Rick from Ft. Myers Fla. With our love for riding it was great to ride side by side as we rode to raise awareness together for child sexual abuse. Through the years Rick and wife Linda have become generous sponsors and supporters of both the Ride for Life and the Baltimore Child Abuse Center.

In the first ten years since the first ride, we have raised over $48,000.00 for BCAC and attracted over 230 riders in 2016. We have also gained the support of generous corporate sponsors like, McAvoy's of Parkville, Loane Bros., Maryland Deli Provisions, Performance Food Group, Bobby's Potty's, the Art Decorating Co., All American Pride Contracting, Inc., the Rick & Linda Ritz Foundation, State Farm Insurance, Brooks-Huff Tire & Auto, Hirsh Electric, Law Offices of Jay Irwin Block, Liberty Mutual Insurance, BB&T Bank, Harley Davidson of Baltimore, Hard Rock Cafe Baltimore and friends like Bob Lindner, Jim MaGuire,  Mike Sinar, Bridget Taormina, Lee Taormina,Linda and Taylor Stoffregen and Laurie and Taylor Baker.

Now for the music part, special thanks to our true friends in the music world who each and every year come out in support by donating their time and talents to entertain the crowds, like Rob Fahey & the Pieces, the Drunken Uncles, the Bristols, Wild Rice, Sun Scorcher, Phoenix Rising, Rt 66 Band, Russ Greene Band, Patty Reese, Gil Bruns, Catfish, Spike, Devon Howard, Buckey's Brother, PUSH, Dogs of Buddha, Stolen Identity, OTR, Marshall Law, MOJO, Fooled Again, Cindy Miller Band, NOT Dead Yet and ld Skool.

In 2016, we hosted our first Family FUN Day for the children at St. Vincent's Children's Center. The ride began in Hereford at the forehouse and end at St. Vincent's so the riders were able to meet the children that they have been riding for all these years. The event included, pony rides, moon bounces, basketball toss, photo booth, a visit from Batman and Santa, live music by #theseguys and free beverages and food cooked and served by the members of Ravens Roost 82.

In 2017, we will once again host the Family FUN Day at St. Vincent's and sponsor several children to attend Camp Opportunity so they can be who they are. SURVIVORS.

A huge Thank You to the Iron Shields LE MC, Punishers LE MC, Baltimore City and County Police Departments, Long Green, Kingsville, Fallston, Butler, MD Line and Hereford VFD's for their support in providing a safe and enjoyable ride.
